1. Needs Assessment.

Using your architectural drawings, your Project Coordinator will compile a room-by-room assessment identifying the specific products needed to furnish your one-of-a-kind school.

2. Budget Analysis.

Your Project Coordinator then meets with you and school personnel to present products that match your design, purpose, quality levels and budget restraints. Final selections are made along with printouts of each individual room’s product design. An accurate budget is also included to help you compare the prices of what you’ve selected to what you can afford to spend. Spent too much? Not to worry, because the flexibility of the Projects by Design™ process lets you tweak individual products to obtain your ultimate budget goals. If you’d like, we can also produce a convenient "picture book" showing each item used in your project to easily and clearly illustrate the BIG picture.

It’s all in the details.

3. Bid Documents.

• Bid Conditions: Address areas where your school district’s interests need to be protected, such as bid performance bonds, freight, etc.
• Bid Specifications: Allow bidders to understand what features you are asking them to provide
• Bid Proposal: Invites alternate, group or package bids
• Bid Pricing: School Specialty® prides itself on its unprecedented buying power. We work directly with all factories and secure pricing deals exclusive to your project based on manufacturers’ cost, installation cost, and freight cost.

4. Bid Analysis.

School Specialty® provides you with a complete recap of all submitted bids including a line-item analysis of responsible bids, comparison with group bids, and total package bids. At your request, your Project Coordinator can perform a post-bid recap to assure a consistent quality level from all companies involved.

Supervision of delivery and installation. Follow-ups on every order with every manufacturer. Assurance that your project will be completed on time and to your satisfaction. Your Projects by Design™ team is on the job.

Bottom line, we’re responsible for everything.

From order entry and purchasing to customer service issues. Freight claims to replacements. Special installations and AIA documentation to invoicing.
